Modern Family actress Sofia Vergara is saying goodbye to her $18 million Los Angeles mansion—again. Vergara and her husband, Joe Manganiello, have officially relisted their Mediterranean-style Beverly Hills mansion with a $2 million price cut.
Last year, the couple listed the home for $20 million, and while they’ve slashed the price, it’s still $7.4 million over what she paid for the home in 2014. This Italian-style villa is about as romantic as it gets, with a terracotta roof and stucco siding. Located on San Ysidro Drive in L.A.’s tony Beverly Hills neighborhood, the 11,369-square-foot, three-level gated home recalls an Italian-style villa. It was built in 2006 and has been renovated since. There are seven bedrooms, 11 bathrooms, and three powder rooms.
From the outside, the home is covered in crawling vines and beautiful foliage, and there’s lush landscaping with bright flowers and towering trees at every turn. It’s easy to see why a high-profile celebrity would seek out a sanctuary-like, ultra-private estate. Designed with opulent, yet refined Italianate design, the home opens to a grand foyer with a spectacular sweeping staircase and double–height ceilings capped with an ornate dome. The heart of the home is the chef’s kitchen with Viking appliances and a breakfast area, which connects to an outdoor patio. The main floor also houses a lavish living room with a coffered ceiling and a formal dining room.
From the living room, French doors open to reveal the resort-style backyard. Here, there’s a massive pool, hot tub, and manicured lawn space. There’s also plenty of deck and patio area to lounge in the sun after a dip in the pool and a covered seating area perfect for enjoying the weather with a cocktail in hand.. Inside on the second level, there’s a primary bathroom with large walk-in closets and a spa-like bathroom. There are private terraces from a few of the rooms so you’re never too far from the outdoors. Vergara remodeled the home alongside her go-to interior designer Jennifer Bevan.
Of course, it’s no Beverly Hills house without celebrity-worthy amenities. The lower level is an entertainer’s dream, with a bar, 3,000-bottle wine cellar, wine tasting room, a 10-seat movie theater, gym, sauna, two bedrooms, and a laundry room. There’s also a three-car garage and a motor court. The property is securely hidden behind walls, gates, and hedges. The home is listed with Santiago Arana of The Agency. This residence is centrally located near all of Beverly Hills’ most sought-after restaurants, designer shopping, and entertainment. It’s located nearby the iconic Beverly Hills Hotel and is also close to the lively West Hollywood.
Vergara and her husband moved to a 17,000-square-foot home in Beverly Park, perched in the mountains above Beverly Hills, in 2020. The couple bought a $26 million home, in a similar Tuscan style, and are just one of five owners in the past six years. Vergara is one of the highest-paid television actresses in history thanks to her role on Modern Family and brand partnerships.
